I watched that on sky last night!

Brilliant!! bloody brilliant goal from freddie eastwood too! The last 10 mins felt like 30 - everyone know that man u only need a few seconds to change a game.

But man of the match was their goal keeper - amazing saves!!!

I bet there will be a surge in the birth rate in southend in 9 months time, along with a surge of naming kids ‘freddie’ (or the goal keepers name!)

Hope that southend manage to draw another premiership team in the next round.
(if they quailify, would be good laugh if it was spurs or arsenal as it would verge on a derby ish game - plus southend have never played arsenal!)

As you will no doubt remember the manure losing is always guarenteed to make me happy! Was out with colleagues so didn’t see the match but dad texted me the results and what was a really good night got even better!

I liked the stat at the end when they said that Southend are now the only team to have a positive rating against Man U out of the 90 odd teams.

I know what you mean about the time James - the last half i was literally on the edge of my seat, heart pounding.

You knew Eastwood would pull out all the stops as scouts would be watching. Didn’t they say that Southend had already had a two million offer for him?

Yes I think they have but given the crazy prices people pay for english players….that’ll probably be around the 10m mark now!!

I think the likes of Bolton, Villa, Newcastle will be fighting over him - although from what i’ve heard, he wants to see the season out with southend… but then if the offer comes in, i doubt southend could turn it down!!

It made me laugh at the start when the sky commentators had to climb a ladder to get to the commentary box at the start!!!

I’ve seen a few Southend matches at Roots hall for the first time this season.

It is a cattle shed.

Makes the experience more personal though.

I loved Ronaldo’s face as he came out of the dressing rooms - it was ‘what the f**k am I doig here?’

Hehee - yeah, Ronaldo has played at some of the most amazing stadiums in the world, then comes out at roots hall!! (although I’ve never been there, but most people don’t rate it too highly!!)

Southend have now been drawn against Spurs! That should be an interesting match…?
