The IT Crowd returning…?

Charlotte was given the DVD of this great little sitcom for Christmas and we’ve just finished watching it again. It’s a bit of a geeky program but Charlotte likes it too so it can’t be all about that. Some of the funny stuff isn’t even mentioned but just part of the set. The DVD itself is also really well put together with some old style game sequences and classic sounds. It might be the geek in me but this is one of my favourite shows from last year.
What is confusing though is that IMDB have it down for a second series that starts on friday. But I can’t find anything else about it other than people becoming confused about it. I can only guess that it’s not going to happen on Friday as there’s been no advertising for the show and absolutely no stuff on the Channel 4 mini site. I suppose that might mean that it’s not happening now, or that shooting has been delayed. I really do hope that there’s another series of this quirky comedy.
Good Hunting
I can see what you mean and whilst that’s fine for you, me, Neil and every other geek out there it had to appeal to a wider audience otherwise it would never have got made.
I have still yet to sample either the mighty boosh or the smoking room so I’m afrad I can’t comment on them yet.
IMDB is notorious for being unreliable. I still use it loads though.
I though the IT Crowd was ok but to be honest the two best people in it were Richard Ayoade and Chris Morris of Garth Marenghi and Brass Eye.
I did read somewhere that channel 4 had green lit a second series, not that I can remember where now, damn internet!
Yes, it has a second season.
Doesn’t start until Spring, tho, was the last I heard a few months back. God knows where this 5th Jan date has come from. I could envisage it starting after Celebrity Big Brother.
Why not ask Dave? He’ll know… *sniggers*… which, btw, is an allusion to the fact that Dave refused point blank to watch it, even tho I told him how great it was and who it was by. On the basis of one bad advert *laughs*
He’s… funny.
That makes sense I suppose, I’ll just have to spray my ear and wait!
Dave said that he hadn’t seen it, perhaps I’ll buy him the DVD and make him watch it, he’ll like the menus!
Does the fact I didn’t find this funny mean I’m not a geek like you lot???
On other computer matters, I might be asking for your help/advice as I might be bringing my computer out of retirement (i havent really used it since I graduated since have had no need for it but now I have my own place I’ll need it if I want to use the internet and put my pictures on it and stuff). I have to pick a phone and broadband package first and work out which suppliers come to my flat!
Plug it in would be my first advive.
Wow really helpful!!!
What I really need to know is about adding a new hardrive (either internal or external) and memory so that I have space to store stuff.
But on the plus side I might possibly be able to use the TV i might be getting so wont have to use my dodgy monitor anymore
I’m not sure that you’ll be able to use a TV with it, by the time you’re doing all of that you might as well pootle down to PC world and buy one of their £300 pound computers and get a pretty flat screen monitor.
well the tv i think i am getting says you can use it as a PC monitor and as its about £600 worth of TV (no i’m not paying anywhere near that much for it) i should hope it does what it says! and that will be a nice flat screen LCD thingy
Just have to hope the old computer doesnt blow up on me!
Not really a normal TV then! You should still get a new PC though, get a new one that gets the free upgrade to the new version of windows. It’ll probably end up cheaper than trying to buy all the stuff to make yours work.
I guess not, its amazing what use friends in high places are!
That will cost a fortune, all i would need would be a bit more memory space surely? do i need the latest version on windows or whatever? ohh i guess i could have the cute penguins….
It depends on what spec your computer is really, I’m assuming that it’s about six years old.
Err James built it for me sometime during second year…so about 5 years old, but then bits of it are older as took them from older computers! it might just have to do for now.
I only watched it occasionally. It was funny in moments, but generally not funny enough for the whole episode.
Although, it is so easy to relate to, I think that is what makes it funny. I don’t like the actor [who plays the bloke on the right of that photo], think that puts me off.
The smoking room, and the peep show are well worth a watch - but can’t stand the mighty boosh.
That was a totally surreal load of comments. I couldn’t resist a snigger.
Long live the BOOSH!
Yes I do!
We’ve got the DVD for Xmas as well - I was a bit disappointed by it actually when I watched it last year - I thought that they could have made it much more nerdy. There were some really funny bits in it, but not enough to qualify it as a classic sitcom, despite its pedigree.
Hopefully it will improve on a second viewing.
We also got the Mighty Boosh Live which is really funny and the Smoking Room series 2 which is hilarious.
