Here comes the Fuzz
On valentines day the new(ish) Simon Pegg/Edgar Wright creation ‘Hot Fuzz’ hit the screens, after the success of Shaun of the Dead everyone I know was itching to see it but it looks like they came away dissapointed (Ian and Andi). I’m not 100% sure what everyone was expecting from a film that is written by and basically stars the same people but it was only ever going to be one of two things - a completely different tone from Shaun of the Dead or basically the same type of film with a different setting - it was the later.
I wasn’t a great fan of Shaun of the Dead when it first came out, it took watching Spaced to make me wise up and fully appreciate it, perhaps that’s why I really liked Hot Fuzz, I still want more of that style of humour whereas those who saw Spaced long before the films have fallen out of love with it. This film was not as good as Shaun of the Dead but then it’s not that far behind and to be honest I’ve seen Shaun of the Dead way more times than Hot Fuzz so after a few more viewings it might be as good in my eyes.
I’d give it 7.5/8 out of 10.

A collection of news
As I haven’t posted much recently I’ve put quite a lot up at once so I didn’t want Abi and Neil congrautations to get lost along with the other posts so Congratulations again! Maybe I’ll have something more interesting to say soon, perhaps about a fourth season of BSG!

A night in the life of…
Tuesday saw Ian coming up to us for a night out in Colchester and while we had planned to go out at uni thinking that there’d probably be more chance of a crowd, we ended up in town. After some frantic arrangments we had agreed to meet Vicky in town for a bit as she had to go to work the next day.
Before we went out Ian cooked his famous curry dish and we sat down to enjoy with the Taxi to town only about twenty minutes away, but all was well and we had just about finished in time! We went to Yates’ first and it is suprisingly fun in there, I’ve only actually been in there twice I think and I’ve fun both times even though I was feeling really quite ill. After some interesting conversations and silliness we moved on to the ony place in Colchester onpen past midnight on a Tuesday, a place where I had never been before…
…the Hippodrome. Yes I can now no longer say that I haven’t been inside. To be honest it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, the music wasn’t bad a chessy mix of popular music.
All in all I had a fun night and I’m pretty sure that everyone else did too, we watched galactica the next day as Ian hadn’t seen it yet and although it was ok it wasn’t one of the best episodes, nothing moved in the main storylines and the only thing that really happened was a bit of character development for Tigh and Helo.

Norwich and being ill
Some of the sharper readers out there may have noticed that I haven’t been posting quite as much recently, now this is mainly to do with the fact that I need more hours in each day to do everything that I want. But over the last week I have also had the excuse that we’ve been up to Norwich for a few days again, it’s half term so it’s great to have a few days away from work and work and more work.
Norwich was briliant fun as it always is and we had two days just the two of us which was really good as we’ve both been really busy at work/uni recently. Plus the travel lodge room was just £15 so that meant we had a free (Well not really free but accountably free) meal!
The only down side was that I was feeling a little ill, thankfully not too bad while we were there but I’ve actually been ill for a week now which is very unlike me. I’ve decided that I should make sure I’m eating the right stuff and getting some proper sleep and it seems to be working - I feel a lot better today so hopefully I’ll be fine soon.
