House Update

photo-0240.jpgWe’ve just heard back that our mortgage has been approved by the Bank and that they are happy with the surveyors report. That means that there should be nothing to stop us moving apart from the time it takes to sort out the contracts.

That said it seems to have taken ages to get to this point and so what else can take the time? Various different people have told us different amounts of time until we could be sitting in the new lounge - from two weeks to six months!

Anyway we’ve still got to find the money for the solicitors fees and the stamp duty etc…

Good Hunting

Excellent news :) How’s the sofa hunt going?

Not too bad, we think that we like the one in Harveys best but it depends whether they have the offer on when we can order it!

Cool new. So where’s the new house?

Halstead, it’s about 10-15 miles from Colchester, out towards Braintree way. Somewhere there is the rightmove link…

Sounds good!
I was lucky, my whole thing took 8 weeks from putting the offer in to moving in! Hopefulyl yours will be just as smooth! Only had a couple of hiccups!

ooh pretty house! Looks great - so exciting!

I think it all depends on how quick the seller wants to sell, and how quick their solicitors want to do stuff.

It is such an old process - everything is done my letters and post - I can understand for security of signing stuff - but why not do the correspondence by email/telephone, send a digital copy to review, then send just the document for signing when it needs to be done.

Stupid stuff.

Good luck though!!

I’m glad it’s not just me that thinks the digital age should be shoved in front of solicitors!
