Spidermans predictable but undeserved rise

images21.jpgSpiderman 3 seems to keep going http:// news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/ entertainment/6652237.stm, its made $60m in the US apparently. Not bad for a film thats not actually that great - but then I’ve seen it so why would the studios know any different.

If Spiderman can make this much money what the hell is pirates going to do? The last Pirates film made stupid amounts of cash and I can’t see how the third installment is going to be any different. Shrek 3 will make a lot too although I don’t think it will generate the same income as the other two. Perhaps Harry Potter can upstage them but I’m not so sure!

I agree with what Ian and Andi have said about Spiderman, it’s kind of a nothing film as you don’t really get into the characters. Now I heard Campea from the movie blog go on about this before but why would the people who make the films change the way they do it? They make so much money from these blockbusters that it’s not important to them to make the film that good - bums on seats as they say. How do people get that message across? No idea.

Hamilton Leads

How unbelievable is it that Hamilton is leading the world championship. Four races into his career. Four podiums. Three second places.

L Hamilton 30pts
F Alonso 28pts
F Massa 27pts

Who knows where we can go from here, anything is possible but if Hamilton performs like he has done so far why not…

I refer everyone to my excitement before the season started!

Another good point is that Taku, one of my favourite drivers, picked up a point for Super Aguri. Button finished twelfth and Coulthard drove a stunning race without third gear in the remaining laps to finish fifth.

Taking stock of F1

We are now three races into the season and I’ve only really just caught up. Not really how I expected it to go but then things never do, do they? I didn’t expect McLaren to be that stong in the first few races. I thought that Ferrari would walk the fly aways and that everyone else would be playing catch up until midseason. BMW and Williams are doing better than I thought and Renault and Honda are appaling.

What will happen in the next races? Well I think that some of the teams with more resources such as Honda, Renault and Toyota will take some time out of the smaller teams such as Super Aguri, Williams (Smaller? Sad but true) and Red Bull.

Now with the grid for the spanish GP as follows;

1. MASSA Ferrari
2. ALONSO McLaren
3. RAIKKONEN Ferrari
4. HAMILTON McLaren
5. KUBICA BMW
6. TRULLI Toyota
7. HEIDFELD BMW
8. KOVALAINEN Renault
9. COULTHARD Red Bull
10. FISICHELLA Renault
11. ROSBERG Williams
12. BARRICHELLO Honda
13. SATO Super Aguri
14. BUTTON Honda
15. DAVIDSON Super Aguri
16. LIUZZI Toro Rosso
17. SCHUMACHER Toyota
18. WURZ Williams
19. WEBBER Red Bull
20. SUTIL Spyker
21. ALBERS Spyker
22. SPEED Toro Rosso

We look forward to a year that seems like it’s going to be dominated by the Red and Silver cars, now I’d love to see the race between Massa and Hamilton but I think Alonso will have the edge at his home GP.

I did actually manage to capture the last 5mins of qualifying this time - the first time I’ve seen it this year! I was standing in a Co-op looking at the washing machines when I turned around to see a wall of TVs showing Hamilton about to finish a hot lap, with which he went fastest then Kimi who went faster still and then Massa who went faster and then Alonso who went faster still so it was a good time to turn around! The session looked good anyway, I’m sure I’ll be able to catch up tomorrow.

If this post seems slightly non-coherant that’s probably because it’s been written in about four stages.

House Update

photo-0240.jpgWe’ve just heard back that our mortgage has been approved by the Bank and that they are happy with the surveyors report. That means that there should be nothing to stop us moving apart from the time it takes to sort out the contracts.

That said it seems to have taken ages to get to this point and so what else can take the time? Various different people have told us different amounts of time until we could be sitting in the new lounge - from two weeks to six months!

Anyway we’ve still got to find the money for the solicitors fees and the stamp duty etc…

Lost

lost-400.jpg

Having watched the 20th episode of the third season, I have come to the relisation that I still don’t really know anything more than about three episodes into the first.

Everything contridicts itself whilst remaining just possible and recently Charlotte and I have wondered whether some things are not meant to be taken exactly as they look, for example the ages of people in flashbacks, are they meant to look that old or was it just too difficult to make them look any younger?

Now there are a few things that I have only just remembered about that don’t really make any sense…

  • Micheal Leaving…
  • The shark with the Dharma markings
  • The polar bear
  • Why although everyone seems to heal quicker on the island, no ones hair ever grows

And I’m sure there are many more. This season seems to have meandered around without really going anywhere, I suppose we have found out a lot about the others - and a bit about thier origins (EP20). But it’s only really raised more questions, I’m sure that we’ll find out? - only 50 episodes to go.
