Back from Half-term
So half term is over and we’re all back to School. Damnit! It’s good to have a week without having to get up at 6ish every day! We did some great things this half-term too, as well as packing and getting closer to moving!
It looks like we’re going to be moving on the 13th at the moment… We stil haven’t exchanged yet but the other people want that day too so fingers crossed
With this in mind we’ve started to pack everything up. Now I thought that we didn’t have that much stuff really considering we only live in a little flat, but how wrong can I be! We’ve now got boxes everywhere and it doesn’t seem to have made a difference. It’ll all be worth it though when we finally get there. Everything seems more annoying on the Hythe now…
B&Q
Once the wonderous shop of everything DIY now a festering noise machine that will not let us sleep
. From annoucements and music at 2am through security warnings… “Staff Annoucement, Door by Coffee shop open… (pause)… Staff Annoucement…”, all night to Beeping fork lift trucks and alarms. Seriously two more weeks of calm please!
Weekend One
Calming down from the B&Q rant… Ok, the first weekend was spent in a variety of places, first off we went to see pirates with Ian. I enjoyed the film, it was a bit darker than the last two (light wise not evil wise) and I wasn’t convinced by that but there was some awesome action sequences and it kind of played the story out - I would have liked a bit more ‘realism’ but in a series that started about undead pirates I guess we weren’t really going to get that.
After the film we then picked Jen up and came home for a night in to catch up as I haven’t really seen her since she broke her arm. On the saturday we dragged Jen around electrical shops and bought a washine machine and a fridge! How exciting! In the evening we met Abi and Neil in Halstead to show them the house and then had a curry… Good Curry… bodes well for Halstead.
On Sunday I went back to Rayleigh to see Dave and Tom for some D&D fun damn, damn Gnolls… And the GP obviously. Hamilton was awesome - again, part of me hopes that he doesn’t win until Silverstone!
Norwich & Evenings…
Predicably we visted Norwich over the half term and amongst our normal delights we bought some more ribbon for the wedding invitations. This of course means that we have all of the components for the invitations so I sat down for some thrilling sticking… I’m sorry, I’m a man I can’t gardener excitment for pretty cards… But having said that they do look very cool once finished and are a damn sight cheaper than bought ones, it’s just the time that you have to put in, honestly sweat and tears…
Everything else
Apart from Charlotte doing her reports and me writing another 1000 words of my thesis nothing much else happened, apart from the weather man getting his days muddled and almost spoiling the Sunday, all hail the Crown Inn, saviour of rubbish days.
Good Hunting
Pritt Stick won’t hold…
Copydex and a cocktail stick does the trick.
‘honestly sweat and tears…’
Just use pritt stick like the rest of us!
