Gap in Service
Thanks to all of you that still check this site occasionally in the hope that I might have written something new. As many of you know I’m now trying to write up my PhD thesis and unfourtunately that means that I’m having to focus completely on that (and the wedding!). As such I don’t really expect that I’ll update this site before the new year.
Hopefully I’ll return from my honeymoon with a completed thesis and no wedding planning - that should mean that I’ll have a lot more time to update this and finish some of the other things that I’ve started over the last year or so.
Good Hunting until then…
Oh well…
Kimi pulls off the seemingly impossible as Hamiltons challenge fails, with shades of Schumacher from last year Lewis fights back but it’s not enough to hold on his title lead, it all makes China look more silly.
At least theres next year for our british hopefuls… I bet that JB is secretly relieved…

China woes
So Hamilton kinda threw away his chance at the title for China. It’s not all over though, we have Brazil to go. Apparently it’s the first time since the 80’s that three people have been in contention in the last race - it’s ashame that Hamilton didn’t finish the last race he could have knocked Kimi out and made Alonso need a win and him to not finish.
It has been an up and down season for all the main contenders apart from Hamilton really, of all of them he has seemed to perform consistantly. It feels to me that the relative performance to Alonso has depended more on Alonso than on Hamilton. And Ferrari have been all over the place. I think that the last race is going to be good provided that nothing strange happens, it’d be great to see Hamilton walk away with the title this year - but he’s the youngest of the three and he’s got a long way to go yet - after all it took Schumacher a few years! All I can say is that if Hamilton doesn’t get it - please don’t let Alonso get it either, he has been an interesting character this year and it’s hard to fathom some of the things that he’s done. In some ways he needs a break to let people get used to him again!
Button got fifth in China which was the best result of the year for him - how bad is that. He has however driven brilliantly all year and yet not attracted nearly as much attention as some of the other drivers, Sutil has shown flashes of brilliance too but not often enough really. Where were my predictions… rather off I’m afraid!
Anyway fingers crossed!

Saturday
Thanks to everyone who came to see us on Saturday. We had a great time and I hope that everyone else did too! There was lots of drinking and eating but I think the star of the show was Tommy, everyone seemed to want to play with him and as he’s not a cat to turn down some attention he reveled in it! Though he’s slept very well for the last couple of days!
I’m kinda glad that I missed the GP at 4 in the morning now as it was fun to sit down and watch it with other people - especially such an eventful race.

Lewis closes in…
After Lewis Hamiltons latest triumph it looks like he’s closing in on the title in his first F1 season. With a 12pt lead and two races to go with a car that doesn’t look like it will mechanically DNF all season Alonso has his work cut out to beat him!
What does that mean? Well it could mean that Alonso will move on somewhere else - could toyota be on the cards now that Ralfs not going to be there? Back to Renault? Or it could mean that Alonso will start next year a fresh and try to upsurp Lewis for the title - perhaps Kimi or Massa will beat them both.
