Saturday the 9th of January
So Libby was meant to have her party on Saturday, but the weather seemed to conspire against us with a large proportion of the guests unable to make it (some had more elaborate excuses than others :)) we postponed it. But Libby wanted to make it a special day all the same…
Libby decided that she’d take her first steps instead! She had three little steps all by herself and now we can’t stop her! She’s trying to run before she can walk. I am trying to add a video of it but the Video camera has other ideas. It now works!

These are the pictures from Libby’s birthday, as you can see we took her to the Zoo, a little unorthodox on the 5th of January but she loved it!
She got loads more presents and she still has her party to come!

Christmas with the Staceys
This year was Libby’s first Christmas and we have been determined to make it fun! And to start off some traditions that we can hopefully keep going. Though I’m not sure about the Cherry Coke for Santa…
I finished work on Christmas eve and our Christmas started then! Up to the pub for a Christmas eve drink with hot chestnuts (it was cake and cheese on Christmas day!) and then home for a cosy night! Libby didn’t know anything was up - well apart from the fact that she thought we were odd putting out mince pies and reading her stories under the tree.
Libby woke up with a smile and set about opening her pressies - she had quite a few! Far too many to list here, you can see most of them in the pictures.
We had a lovely Christmas meal and Libby had a lovely time playing with all of her new toys, though she did enjoy playing with the pair of tights that Mel had bought her for most of the morning.
Boxing day was a nice quiet day that we spent at home playing - Libby enjoyed all of the food that she had been getting too. We were then host to my Parents and Sister the next day for more Libby presents, Libby also went out for her first curry at a buffet! Dave, Tom and Amanda came up the following day; it was great to see them and catch up and another meal out for Libs.
We were then into travelling to see people, with Great Grandad, and Great Grandma/Grandad on the list - more presents for Libby! By now we don’t any space in the Lounge!

Libby’s first year
This year has been amazing from about 10.00pm on the 4th when we started timing contractions… Libby was born at 1.40am on the 5th January 2009 and is a year old today.
Happy birthday little girl, I hope you’ve had a good year because I certainly have! You’ve grown so much, you can now stand in front of me waving a toy and saying “Daddy” so loud that I can’t watch the Startrek film! It doesn’t seem a minute ago that I was holding that tiny sticky screamy thing, I wouldn’t have missed a minute of this year though. We’ve done so many things, I’m looking forward to you growing up and all the things that I can teach you this year.
