Saturday the 9th of January
So Libby was meant to have her party on Saturday, but the weather seemed to conspire against us with a large proportion of the guests unable to make it (some had more elaborate excuses than others :)) we postponed it. But Libby wanted to make it a special day all the same…
Libby decided that she’d take her first steps instead! She had three little steps all by herself and now we can’t stop her! She’s trying to run before she can walk. I am trying to add a video of it but the Video camera has other ideas. It now works!

Libby’s first year
This year has been amazing from about 10.00pm on the 4th when we started timing contractions… Libby was born at 1.40am on the 5th January 2009 and is a year old today.
Happy birthday little girl, I hope you’ve had a good year because I certainly have! You’ve grown so much, you can now stand in front of me waving a toy and saying “Daddy” so loud that I can’t watch the Startrek film! It doesn’t seem a minute ago that I was holding that tiny sticky screamy thing, I wouldn’t have missed a minute of this year though. We’ve done so many things, I’m looking forward to you growing up and all the things that I can teach you this year.

Fireworks!
Bang!
I’ve been looking forward to taking Libby to a fireworks show for months now and we finally got to on Saturday! We took her to the show at Heathlands in West Bergholt near Colchester.
She was wrapped up in her new coat with obligitary hat and mittens (with elastic of course) so that she stayed warm. She started off with a bit of a whimper but then she got it to the spirit of the night and just stared at the rest of the display! She kept wanting to swap who was holding her too, even pointing at some of the rockets, all in all she loved it!

With everyone else joining in the Halloween fun we couldn’t resist dressing Libby up!
She enjoyed her trick-or-treating (well mainly treating), she even ended up in the pub.

After what happened last week it was good to take Libby to the beach this weekend and not have any hospital drama!
Looks like she enjoyed it anyway!
