Saturday the 9th of January
So Libby was meant to have her party on Saturday, but the weather seemed to conspire against us with a large proportion of the guests unable to make it (some had more elaborate excuses than others :)) we postponed it. But Libby wanted to make it a special day all the same…
Libby decided that she’d take her first steps instead! She had three little steps all by herself and now we can’t stop her! She’s trying to run before she can walk. I am trying to add a video of it but the Video camera has other ideas. It now works!

Talking to the other side of the world
Last week we sat down at 6.30pm and spoke to Ian over skype. It was great to catch up - I think it was 7.30am for him, he was still in bed in his pants! The picture to the left shows what Ian could see.
It was great to talk about the less facebooked (is that a verb yet?) aspects of his trip to New Zealand and his forays into Australia. It was nice for Libby to see him too as he’s going to be away for some time yet, even Carol got a peek at her. Sounds like amongst other things the hygine at Fijian hostels can be questionable but that the walks in that part of the world are breathtaking.

Norwich near Christmas
This year we thought that we’d like to take Libby somewhere once the festive season had started - for all those out there who say “Not Yet!” I have an 11 month old daughter it’s started already, ok! - so as we normally get up to Norwich around this time of year and the Travelodge had cheap rooms we thought that it would be ideal.
We travelled on the train again which Libby loved, as you can see below she liked looking out of the windows as we were going along and reading her book on the way home. Once we were there we spent mainly our time wandering around the shops and eating out, with Toosties, La Tasca and Nandos all being frequented, Starbucks also had their fair share. Libby loved all of the Christmas lights and decorations that were up everywhere and kept pointing at her favourites, though the main use for pointing is still what type of food she wants next ;).

Fun with Friends
Yesterday we had a great day bowling with Andi, Amy, JB, Abi and Shel. We haven’t seen them for ages so it was really good to catch up a bit and just have some fun! Libby enjoyed seeing her friends too and took an extra special shine to Andi ;).
First we met up in Starbucks for a brief coffee and then went to the Bowling alley at Freeport. After a complicated conversation with the dude on the reception desk we were ready to play! Andi showed everyone how to bowl by posting the only score that topped 100 but we had fun and Libby even had a go!
After that we went on the have lunch/tea at Frankie and Benny’s where Libby enjoyed at bit of almost everyones dinner! It was a day of good company, food and fun, thanks to everyone for coming.
