Libby’s Christening

This Sunday was Libby’s christening, we’d like to thank everybody who came for making it such a fantastic day for us and her, also we’d like to thank everyone for the lovely presents that they got Libby. We had a great time on the day and it’s always good to see everyone!

Libby was the star of the show and she didn’t let us down, she was an angel all day, I think that everyone would agree she looked pretty gorgeous in her dress! Hopefully everyone got a cuddle that wanted one. We were lucky that the weather held out as the forecast was for heavy showers but they never found their way to us and everyone was able to sit out in the garden at the Bull - the bar nearly ran out of Pimms ;).

A big thankyou to Ian (aka Libby’s ‘Spiritual Warrior’), Abi, JB and Rachel now that they are official and have renounced the Devil, I hope they enjoy being Libby’s godparents and that we can see lots of them!

Saturday

Thanks to everyone who came to see us on Saturday. We had a great time and I hope that everyone else did too! There was lots of drinking and eating but I think the star of the show was Tommy, everyone seemed to want to play with him and as he’s not a cat to turn down some attention he reveled in it! Though he’s slept very well for the last couple of days!

I’m kinda glad that I missed the GP at 4 in the morning now as it was fun to sit down and watch it with other people - especially such an eventful race.

Vicky’s Birthday

*Happy Birthday* to Vicky who was 25 on Friday! To celebrate we went down to After Office Hours in Colchester. It’s a rather plush bar with a great atmosphere and very morish but perhaps a little pricy drinks. We had a great time and met some new people - including Dylan who seemed to be quite friendly, hopefully we’ll meet him for a coffee at uni. It was nice to catch up with Simon and Eleanor too, we don’t get to do it that often - even though we live in the same town!

I’ve managed to put some pictures from the evening up on the features page so hop over there to check them out. There’s a prize if anyone can tell me what I’m doing in one of the pictures!

Christmas tour 2006

As most of you know our Christmas was basically spent driving between the various people that we had to see and then trying to fit in seeing everyone else around that! So although we spent Christmas day at Vicky and Jon’s it was off to my parents on boxing day. It was the second Christmas and we had more pressies, along with another day of food and drink! Not as much drink as normal though and to be honest I quite enjoyed not drinking that much, I think that my Dad may have taken that to mean that I wasn’t enjoying myself as much as I could though. Didn’t really manage to see Jen over the course of the visit as she had to work pretty much every day that we were in Rayleigh.

We did manage to meet up with Tom and Dave for a game of pool though. I have to say that I was awesome in the first game but that after that I seemed to lose pretty much any of the talent I’d had! It was a great few hours and brough back a lot of memories, I was talking to Dave about the fact that these things seem so normal even though I haven’t done them for years!

We also managed to grab a coffee with Ian before we left for Kent. He told us all about what he’s going to be doing next year. It sounds insane and I hope that he manages it! Hopefully though it’l mean that I actually see more of him because I’ll be the only person around during the day.

Once we’d made it to Kent it was almost time for Christmas three - it’s starting to sound like a bad film franchise! After a bit of a wander around maidstone and narrowly managing to miss seeing James we went to see a film at the cinema, I don’t really take too well to the maidstone Odeon, it’s always a pain to sort everything out and for some reason the popcorn it always stale! Plus we were going to see Miss Potter, hardly my choice of film - we were with Charlotte’s Mum so it wasn’t really down to me, how wrong was I though, Miss Potter was a great film, Renee Zellweger and Ewan  McGregor steal the show with a cute, tidy, emotional and brilliantly shot film. It was almost my favourite film of the year! Honestly it’s not often that I like films like this but this one is worth a watch - sooooo much better than the Penguin film and if I’m brutally honest, more of a complete film than Bond. Christmas 3 was as again a day of merryment and pressies with a lovely dinner. By this time both Charlie and me were getting a bit homeisck but we still had another step on the tour - Andi and Daves for a chilled new years eve party. Yoiu can see the other posts - and the feature page for a more complete view of that one.

Anyway we’re back home now and trying to keep our new years resolutions!
