Andi & Dave’s New Year

I’m back from our whirlwind tour after Andi and Dave’s new years party, Charlie’s parents and Rayleigh. So many things have happened that I’ll probably post about them sperately! As I feel crap - I’m hoping it’s not the same thing Ian had recently - I’m not going to at the moment! But I would like to say what a geat time we had at the new years party. It was the most fun new year we’ve had for ages. Andi and Dave always manage to attract an eclectic mix and they always ensure that everyone has fun - something that Andi worries too much about ;)!.

Charlotte’s Party

Seeing as I have seem to have a mental block with Java code at the moment I’ll regail you with stories from Charlie’s party at the weekend.

We started off at the Curry house in Wivenhoe - the Bengal Spice - it’s a rather nice curry house although their prices seem to have taken a jump in recent months. JB had decided to work until six in Watford and he couldn’t make it to the meal so that left nine of us for curry - Abi, Nei, Vicky, Jon, Andi, Amy, Ian, Charlotte and Myself. To start with we were the only people in the resturant but it soon filled up and we were probably annoying people by being those loud annoying ones but everyone has to put up eith it once in a while. The food was good and thankfully I didn’t stuff myself silly as we were going on to Waffle’s afterwards for a drink and I don’t think that it would have mixed too well. My student discount was apreciated by everyone I think as it meant that for £20 we all got a curry and a drink at waffles (It was easier than doling out £2/3 to everyone).

Waffles was fun too although it was packed out due to it being the 21st Anniversary of the Bar, and Charlie (The owner of Waffles) was celebrating. As the half price cocktails flowed we all had quite a laugh - karaoke was also on the cards so Abi & Amy got sing a number! JB had joined us by this point and was now enjoying the evening - well I hope he was!

A quick walk home and we were all (minus Jon & Vicky) sitting in the lounge talking. A few rather strange conversations later - one where Ian decided to ask Neil why he didn’t have a ‘h’ in his name and we went to bed.

The following morning was strange though as Ian, Abi & Neil all had somewhere to go early on and had left by the time I got up. As it was actually Charlie’s birthday now I did the good deeds - gave her the cake, made her breakfast and gave her the presents I’d bought. Once all that was over we got up properly and had a chat with Andi and Amy, it was really nice as I haven’t chatted to Andi (Who still has a cookie to eat!) properly for ages and it was nice to get to know Amy a bit better. Hopefully they can make it to Silverstone this year!

Anyway check out the features page for the pictures.

Charlie’s birthday bash

Just a quick reminder, this weekend is Charlie’s birthday and everyone should know what’s going on. I say should as we discovered at the weekend that Charlotte and I both thought that the other had invited Ian, who had no idea about anything! So if you haven’t been invited then you’re welcome to come - James is the only person I can think of that may not know…

It’s going to be a meal and a drink somewhere. If you want to know times etc… then drop me an email and I’ll let you know.
